VA Governor McDonnell Parade

FIRST Team 122 was 1 of 37 groups asked to participate in Virginia Governor McDonnell’s Inaugural Parade. Sending several students, one team captain and a robot from competitions past the team displayed it’s traditional colors of Blue and Silver on the warm sunny day.

We have officially kicked off the 2010 build season! Our regional kickoff was a great success with more teams showing up than ever before at the Virgina Air and Space Museum.

FIRST Team 122 presented at the 2009 NASA Langley Colloquium Here are a few pictures and a sound bite from the event.
Team 122 is a member of an international organization called FIRST: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, that competes in the annual FIRST Robotics Competition for high school students. Our team is made up of students from local high schools who attend The Governor’s School for Science & Technology and the Career & Technical Education Center here at New Horizons, those who come to us from their respective high schools (public and private) after school, and those who are home schooled. We are proud to to represent the City of Hampton, the City of Newport News, the City of Poquoson, York County, their respective schools (public, private, and home schooled), and our sponsors from all these localities.
